Pretty Busy Picks: Summer style wish list
Summer is the best season for dressing. So it’s also my favorite season for shopping. With school out for summer, it’s a great time for me to relax my style alongside my mind and body.
I’m usually down at the shore for most of the summer season. Which means a lot of swimsuits and shorts. The approach of this summer feels inevitably different. Living in the city, we are unsure of when any sense of normalcy will return to our lifestyles. That said, my wish list picks for summer are easy and comfortable, made for style at home on the couch or ready for a walk in the park (masks on, of course).
Here are my picks for the summer season. A girl can dream, right?
- Skims Cozy Knit Robe ($128) – I love this robe for lounging during the summer. It’s convertible into a duster sweater, and the white color pairs perfectly with just about everything.
- J. Crew Slip-On Skirt (on sale- $70) – I’m not over the slip skirt trend from last summer, and I love this neon twist. I have this skirt in pink, and have my eye on this color to pair with sneakers/sandals and a graphic tee.
- Gucci Pool Slides ($310) – I am not sure what my obsession with these sandals are, but it’s real. I pretty much always wear sandals around the house in the summer months (I don’t like walking around barefoot at home). I think these would be cute to wear around the house, up to the beach, or to run some quick errands. A splurge, yes, but definitely high on my list.
- Golden Goose Sneakers ($495) – Listen, if you know, you know about the GGDB craze. I have a pair, and I have to say, they are worth the money if you’re asking for a good gift. The insoles are really epic. I love my pair, but have my eye on a set with black laces. Check this site often- they fluctuate prices often!
- Mejuri Small Single Diamond Hoops ($130 each) – Chris bought me a pair of diamond studs for my 30th birthday in February. I have three holes in each ear, so I am ready to upgrade my earrings for my second hold. I love these little cuties- simple and on trend.
- Sarto Flatform Espadrilles (on sale- $50) – As a teacher, comfort is critical for footwear. That’s how I fell in love with what I call “flatform” sandals. They give me height, but without the steep heel. So perfect with literally anything.
- Ray-Ban Hexagonal Sunglasses (on sale- $123) – I have had my eye on these for a few years. I am a bit of a sunglasses addict, but they are one of the accessories you can wear all year! Love this shape for a round face.
- Senreve Aria Belt-Bag ($395) – Probably my next “bag” investment. I love a belt bag for travelling around the city, or going for a walk in the park. It holds everything you need, and it’s all hands free. As someone who constantly overloads their bag and immediately regrets it by the time they get somewhere, this is perfect.
- Ninety Percent Cotton Midi-Dress ($105) – I just imagine myself throwing this on after a day at the beach before dinner, or wearing this for a walk in the park to socially distance with friends. So cute and simple, and a light cotton fit.
- Free People Slouchy Denim Jacket (on sale: $55) – I saw this jacket on Brooklyn Blonde and fell in love. I love the slouchy look with the raw hem. It’s also available in a lighter wash. Pair it with that white dress and Birks, and you’re good to go.
- Summersalt x Tanya Taylor Oasis Swimsuit ($125) – I invested in two Summersalt suits before my February vacation. I’m not usually one to invest a ton of money in swimwear, but you can really feel the difference in quality with these. And the fit is incredible, especially if you have curves, and want something a little sexy. I love this print!
- Big Buckle White Birkenstock Sandals ($150) – While my husband despises Birkenstock sandals, there is no competitor when it comes to the comfort level. After my back surgery two years ago leaving nerve damage in my foot, these are so helpful if you’re on your feet all day. They’re more comfortable than sneakers sometimes.
- Good American Bombshell Shorts ($145) – Another item that I’ve had my eye on for a while. They are often sold out in my size, and I have a hard time justifying the price tag for these shorts. But they are my next pick when I buy denim shorts this summer, especially with my thicker thighs.
- Anine Bing Bolt Graphic Tee ($95) – I recently got two of her graphic tees, and I have to say, I love them. They are so soft, perfectly washed and sized, and great to pair with biker shorts or denim cutoffs. I love this simple print that brings ACDC vibes.
What’s on your summer wish list? With so much more time on our hands to online shop, it’s hard not to have your ideal wish list in mind. Hope you enjoyed my picks!
