Summer candle situations

I know, I know. Summer and candles are not necessarily two things that go hand in hand. But, I am petitioning to change that. Because candles aren’t just about making spaces cozy during cold weather months. Their scents are calming, and they create beautiful centerpieces for any decor.

Recently, I found myself missing all of the candles I had left behind at home when I came down to the shore. So I purchase a candle set from one of my favorite brands, Otherland, called the Beach Club set. I thought- perfect for summer and the beach house!

The Beach Club Set from the Otherland. So colorful, and so delightful. The plant is a calathea I am trying to revive. Slide sandals are my faves.

And not to toot my own horn, but I was pretty much right. I wrote about them in the Weekly a few weeks back, but they deserve their own spotlight.

Not only is this set of candles super magical in scent, but they are also so pretty. And if you haven’t made an Otherland order, then just wait until you behold their beautiful packaging that will make you feel (in the words of my friend) like an influencer doing an unboxing video- so luxe! The pearl candle smells like that little kid sunscreen and laundry smell my nephew has, so I am savoring that candle for when I miss him most.

Candle cloche from Luma&Co. (pricier alternative here) ❘ Match striker from Crisp CeramicMatchesCandle from Apothokeco in White Vetiver

A few weeks ago, I saw a beautiful candle cloche (I know, who am I?) from Diptyque, and had to have it. To be honest, those candles are a bit out of budget for me, so you can only imagine what that cloche cost. But I loved the idea of this beautiful glass decorative piece to highlight and protect my growing candle collection, with the added benefit of an even burn.

Someone (I can’t even remember who- maybe BrooklynBlonde) shared this look-alike version from a small business on Etsy, and I snatched that sucker up as soon as I saw the price. I hate to post about something that isn’t currently available, but you can sign up with their shop to receive a notice when they come back in stock, as I think they were inundated with demand. Each piece is handmade, and exceptionally beautiful. Well worth getting on the list, especially to support a small business!

I have candles all over the house at this point, and that means, I need to have something to light my candles with nearby. I prefer matches to any lighters, just because I love the smell of a match or candle being blown out. I found this really beautiful ceramic match holder on Etsy, and the bottom has a striker, so you can easily light the matches. I love how chic this looks- I might want to get a black one for the bathroom, next.

I’ve basically become obsessed with candles, which means that I have my eye on quite a few pieces. I put together a list of those candles that are on my own wishlist. Check them out below!
